Emily was raised in Berwyn, Illinois and graduated with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago. During her undergraduate studies, she focused on Sociology, specifically examining the impact of families from different racial, economic, and orientational backgrounds. This led her to concentrate on Family Law when she was admitted to Depaul College of Law.

While studying at DePaul College of Law, Emily interned at the Cook County Public Guardian's Office and the North Suburban Legal Aid Clinic, where she assisted in advocating for victims of domestic violence after receiving her 7-11 license.

After receiving her Juris Doctorate from DePaul College of Law, Emily began her legal career in August 2022 as a Law Clerk at Fred A. Joshua, P.C. She began her career as a Licensed Attorney at the Firm in November 2022, after being admitted to the Illinois Bar. Emily provides representation for individuals in complex divorce proceedings, parentage matters, and civil orders of protection.

In her free time, Emily loves to read, paint and walk her dog.
